Physio

Usually people in the medical profession have little to no experience with climbing related sports injuries. I was wondering if there was a physiotherapist in the area that some climbers have dealt with and would recommend to others?

I've seen her for both climbing and ultimate frisbee injuries and she's been great.

I also know that Pat Lionais has seen a Physiotherapist who had climbed or something like that. Send him a PM and ask if he recommends her. He is currently in Thailand returning soon I think.

Also, ADas is a A.R.T. R.M.T. and I've had him massage my elbows / arms when I've had tendinitis pain and he is good.

I like the RMT I see (not physiotherapist) - she's a climber and triathlete (Laurie @ Nepean Sports Medicine Clinic). There are several other climbing RMTs around, including Adrian Das and Bryan Castilla (Healing Hands in Orleans, I think).

I've seen a few different PTs at the Nepean Sports Medicine Clinic for different injuries but none were climbers.

Geoff Outerbridge is a doctor who specializes in sports injuries. He's also a long standing climber and has awesome advice on those annoying injuries that just don't seem to go away. Definitely a hand specialist.

Holistic eh? The kind that tries to heal you without the aid of science?

No man.....here's what the wiki says "Holistic health is a concept in medical practice upholding that all aspects of people's needs, psychological, physical and social, should be taken into account and seen as a whole".

Basically is a belief system that all aspects of our lives are directly connected to one another. If you are stressed, you are more porne to injury and recovery will be slower. If your digestive system is stressed or not functioning properly, you are more prone to injury and recovery from injury will be slower. Etc., etc..

Basically what you (and most people) are likely more than aware of, just a word for it : )
